NIGHT ONE is The Gay Old Opry. After the smashing success of the first event, the Gay Ole Opry is set to return. Produced by Riot Grrrl Ink and Karen & the Sorrows, featured performers include Mount Moriah, Viva, Karen & the Sorrows, and Juan & the Pines. Best known for making the theme song to the hit FX Network show “Justified”, for which they are nominated for an Emmy award, Gangstagrass is a groundbreaking hybrid of the most urban and rural sounds of American music, lovingly and expertly melded into a new American sound: Hip-Hop as hard as the Brooklyn pavement and bluegrass straight out of the Appalachian mountains seamlessly melded into one gritty, funky, and utterly infectious new sound. Pioneering country-hip-hop producer Rench directs this collaboration between rappers like T.O.N.E-z (brother of early hip-hop stars Special K of the Treacherous Three and T La Rock) from the Bronx, and talented pickers from New York’s burgeoning bluegrass scene.
