JESSICA LEE MAYFIELD ROCKS SOUTHPAW NEXT FRI 5/14!
A protégé of Black Keys singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach, Jessica Lea Mayfield is a 19-year-old Ohioan who sings tales of heartbreak with a voice that belies her age. Although Auerbach produced and plays guitar on her latest album, Mayfield’s songs are not the blues-rock stomps that made the Keys famous. Instead, she sings atmospheric country-rock that has earned her comparisons to Jolie Holland and Neko Case, comparisons she happens to hate. We don’t blame her. Comparisons are unfair.
